The Mid-Suffolk Light Railway is finalising the plan for it’s largest event of 2016 – the biennial Light Railway Gala.
This year will be the third edition of the event characterised by visiting engines and an intensive timetable of passenger and goods operation.
It takes place over the weekend of September 10 and 11.
This year the line-up will include our regular summer-season visitor Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0ST no. 1700 Wissington, long-term residents Bagnall no. 2565 and Belgian-built Cockerill tram no. 2525.
Also appearing will be 2016 visitor Y7 no. 985, which has so far only appeared on a handful of public days and private special events.
A number of road engines will be visiting for the gala, with one providing the power for our real ale bar, and a miniature railway will be set up providing extra opportunities for steam haulage.
Full details on all attractions and entry prices will be released closer to the event.
Please note: This event is not part of the MSLR’s 12 month season ticket scheme.
