Meanwhile, good progress is being made with the restoration of additional carriages and wagons.
Locomotive 'Alston, our Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0 Saddle Tank, is now in the workshop and preliminary restoration work is in hand. The boiler condition is being assessed and an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund is being prepared, in the hope of securing a grant.
Progress is being made by the Permanent Way Dept. in installing ground frames and interlocking the pointwork in the station area. At the other end of the track, construction of a siding is under way in the 'copse'.
