The livery is based on that of a 7-plank 1911 coal wagon owned by M. M. Mitchell, coal merchant, of Ipswich, Suffolk.
Although the livery is based on an authentic wagon, the use of a mass-produced standard 7-plank wagon means that the model is a compromise between true authenticity and the need to keeps costs down. The dummy coal load can be removed if not required.
Each wagon is provided with a numbered certificate, with the above details printed on the other side. A reproduction advertisement from a 1934 Trade Directory is included in the box. The wagon is marketed solely by the Middy Trading Company to raise funds for the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Museum.
This Limited Edition wagon is priced at £10.00.
If you would like a wagon, please send a cheque payable to ‘Middy Trading Company’. Postage rate is £1.50 for 1 or 2 wagons; £2 for 3 wagons. The cost including postage/packing is therefore: One £11.50; Two £21.50; Three £32.00.
