Description

The Middy Trading Company, the fundraising arm of the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Museum, is pleased to announce that their 22nd Limited Edition Special Commission ‘OO’ wagon is now available.

The livery is based on that of a 5-plank coal wagon owned by Christie & Son, coal merchants of Ipswich. The company was a supplier of coal to stations on the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway branch line as well as other lines in East Anglia between 1904 and 1929. The model is based on one in a photograph in sidings at Haddiscoe station in 1911, (HMRS photo ABB631) published the book “East Suffolk Railway” by John Brodribb. The model is numbered 101 in the Christie fleet and is in a similar livery to the previous Christie wagon produced for us in 2006.

The wagon is also available in weathered finish.
