Description
The livery of the model is based on that of a 5-plank wagon owned by Great Eastern Railway with the distinctive large GE lettering. Over 12,000 of these wagons were manufactured by the GER at their Temple Mills works and W.R.Renshaw & Co between 1893 and 1903 and this particular wagon has now been restored by MSLR volunteers at Brockford to its original condition.
Although the livery is based on an authentic wagon design, the use of mass produced standard wagons mean that the model is a compromise between true authenticity and the need to keep costs down. The wagons feature the NEM coupling pockets and are supplied with a removable coal load. Each wagon is supplied with a numbered limited edition certificate.
