Rowland Manthorpe Limited Edition OO Gauge Wagon

SKU: Wagon-Special Categories: ,

The Middy Trading Company Limited Edition Special Commission ‘OO’ wagon is still available. The design of our Special Commission wagons is based on those which ran on the Mid Suffolk Light Railway between Haughley and Laxfield or could have run on the branch as well as elsewhere in East Anglia. A production run of 169 models have been produced by Dapol Ltd for the Middy Trading Co Ltd and we guarantee no further models of this wagon will be produced for us.

The livery is based on that of a 7-plank coal wagon owned by the Rowland Manthorpe Company of Ipswich. Manthorpe were a coal merchant with premises at Derby Road Station, Ipswich from 1903 and operated in the area up until the early 60’s, still from Derby Road sidings. The model is No 24 of the Manthopre fleet and is in a similar livery to our previous Manthorpe wagon No 20 produced in 2010.

The wagons feature the NEM coupling pockets and are supplied with a removeable coal load. Each wagon is supplied with a numbered limited edition certificate.

There are a few remaining in pristine condition only.
