MSLR Limited Edition Masons Wagon
The Middy Trading Co Ltd is pleased to announce that it’s 19th limited edition OO gauge model is now available.
The design of our Special Commission wagons is based on those which ran on the Mid Suffolk Light Railway between Haughley and Laxfield or could have run on the branch as well as elsewhere in East Anglia. A production run of 214 models have been produced by Dapol Ltd for the Middy Trading Co Ltd and we guarantee no further models of this wagon will be produced for us.
The livery is based on that of a 7-plank coal wagon owned by the Portland Cement company Masons of Claydon. Originally located in Waldringfield, they moved to their Claydon works in 1913 and were subsequently taken over in 1948 by Associated Portland Cement Manufactures Ltd, later to become Blue Circle. Production continued on this site until the late 90’s.
The wagons feature the NEM coupling pockets and are supplied with a removeable coal load. Each wagon is supplied with a numbered limited edition certificate. Wagons are available in pristine or weathered condition. Prices are the same for either version.
Also available exclusively from Middy Trading Company is our standard MID SUFFOLK No.14 wagon, last years limited edition MOY wagon and a few remaining COOTE & WARREN wagons. All available in the shop or by mail order.
We have had a small quantity of the new Hornby ‘OO’ LNER Toad which was modelled on the wagon we have at the MSLR. However, at the time of writing all wagons have been sold. Further supplies are on order and will be available from the museum shop soon.
