The driver experience
Take control of one of our engines for a few hours along the whole of our line. You will arrive and be given a safety briefing and an introduction to the loco, involving riding on the footplate with our experienced crew. Then take a turn as fireman and as driver. Included in the cost of the course, you will receive a certificate as a memento of your day and 12 month’s automatic membership of the MSLR.
Friends and family are welcome to join you for your special day (not on the loco) and your booking includes free entry, tea or coffee for two friends or family members.
Booking for this experience must be in advance as early as possible using the contact details below.
Morning Sessions commence at 9.00 and finish at 12.30.
Afternoon Sessions commence at 13.00 and finish at 16.30.
There are two Light Railway Driver Experiences per session on each of the specified dates.
