30th April Bank Holiday Steam Up + Railway Art Exhibition

At the Middy’s Steam Railway Day on the 30th April, we are very pleased to be hosting an exhibition of paintings by Malcolm Root, Deputy Chairman of the Guild of Railway Artists and Malcolm will be joining us during the day.

You may well ask in this age when everyone has a camera on their phone, what’s the need for paintings, but it is clear from Malcolm’s magnificent work that there is still room for living artistic interpretation that the camera cannot capture.

Malcolm has been a professional artist since 1981 and has had four books of his paintings published as well as numerous other commissions for calendars, greetings cards, collectors plates and jigsaw puzzles. April 30th offers a rare opportunity to see real examples of his work up close (as opposed to printed) and marvel at his technique.
