2017 Middy Steam Gala promises a real treat for rail fans and families

This year’s end of season Steam Gala at the Mid Suffolk Light Railway is working up to be a really special day out with no less than four locos in steam, one of which will be a real surprise – watch this space – more as soon as details can be released. There will also be a number of traction and road roller engines on show and all the usual Middy attractions, the Museum itself, the cafe/refreshment room, the model railway coach and our real ale bar, The Kitchener Arms.

Visitors will also be able to see progress on our own locomotive Hudswell Clarke no.1604 in our new lottery funded engine shed.
