High Sheriff of Suffolk visits Middy

Middy Volunteers were honoured by a visit from The High Sheriff of Suffolk, Mr. Geoffrey Probert and Mrs. Probert on 22nd November. The visit was occasioned for the High Sheriff to present a certificate to the Middy in thanks for the railway’s contribution to Suffolk Tourism.

They spent over an hour with us, visited our lottery funded engine shed and a few other things besides and had a ride on a train.  They were fulsome in their praise for what has been achieved by the Middy volunteers and very supportive of our plans to extent the line to make the Middy even more of a tourist attraction.
