1219 arrives for the Easter Steam-up

Andrew Barclay no. 1219 arrived at Brockford by low loader from the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway on Wednesday 20th March to begin familiarisation trials in readiness for the Easter weekend.

1219. Also known as ‘Caledonia Works’, the loco is an 0-4-0ST built in Scotland in 1910, so although the type never worked on the Middy she is very much of the Edwardian period and, we hope you agree, really looks at home on the MSLR.

Following Easter 1219 is booked to stay at the Middy until the end of the summer season and will be the duty locomotive for our open days.
