The Mid-Suffolk Light Railway’s steaming programme will be published shortly and will show the first major open weekend to be Easter with ‘bunny hunt’ as usual, 12th and 13th April, next year followed by a longer Middy in the War Years programme as the Bank Holiday Weekend has been extended to three days to accommodate VE Day Celebrations on 8th May. Middy in the War years will for the first time run for three consecutive days – 8th, 9th and 10th May. The 24th and 25th May weekend will be a new attraction when ‘Everything Goes’. All our steam and diesel locomotives will be in action.
Then from 31st May we will be open every Sunday and bank holiday until our final Country Railway Gala Day on 6th September. During the season we will be hosting many of our regular visitors including vintage and classic car, motorbike and tractor clubs, plus the Norfolk & Suffolk Narrow Gauge Modellers and the Model Mania event with boats, cars and trains including Hornby Collectors.
We hope that during the season there will be something for almost everyone and hopefully more than one attraction to appeal to many visitors.
A small but important change is that we will be open from 10.30 each morning on open days to enable visitors to catch the first train at 11.00.
