Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Hurricane Flypast at 1940s Event
The BBMF have confirmed a Hurricane flypast, subject the usual weather and vintage machinery caveats, for Sunday 28th May.
The Hurricane visited us last year and flew up and down the line bringing cheers and ‘lumps to the throat’ of the great crowd of Middy visitors really adding to the 1940’s atmosphere.
The celebration of the Middy’s contribution to life in the war years is one of the railway’s main events each Spring and this year will be no different with displays, re-enactors, military vehicles, exhibitions and stalls around the site. There will also be live music of the era on both days together with plenty of action on the line itself. Two locos in steam plus the award winning Shredded Wheat factory diesel shunter and all the usual Middy attractions and, as usual, as many rides as you like.
A truly great day out for families and rail fans alike.
