Cockerill tram repairs rule it out of Coronation Steam Up 7th & 8th May

Sourcing a replacement for the frost damaged pump on the Cockerill tram taking longer than expected, means the loco will be unable to run at the Coronation Steam up. However all repairs are now complete and a final steam test is scheduled for next Wednesday 11th May when we expect the loco to be fit to return to service.

“It beggars belief what a little freezing water can do”, said Steve Grayston, head of the loco repair team at the Middy, “But thanks to a very good friend in Belgium (where the tram originates from), we’ll have her back in service in time for Middy in the 1940’s weekend”.
