Middy achieves renewal of Accredited Museum status

The Middy is delighted to announce we have regained our Accredited Museum status for the next 5 years. This is a tribute to the hard work of many of the railway’s volunteers, not least our Chairman, Ian Meigh, who has lived with form filling and box ticking for many months.
This accreditation underlines the MSLR’s contribution to heritage railways in England and as a major Suffolk tourism attraction. We hope it will also assist in our efforts to continue raising funds for current maintenance and future projects.
Good morning,

Please find attached your decision letter following the Accreditation panel on 05 February 2026.

Congratulations on achieving Full Accreditation!
We will continue to regularly update our website with more information that will support you during this interim period. You can find out more about this at the top of the Accreditation webpage at the following link: UK Museum Accreditation Scheme | Arts Council England

Please find attached a copy of the terms and Conditions and a declaration page. We require all museums offered an Accreditation award to complete and sign the declaration section to confirm that they accept the terms and conditions, including committing to maintaining the Standard during the lifetime of their award. Please note that we can accept a typed signature in the signatory field.

Please email your completed form to accreditation@artscouncil.org.uk by 19 March 2026. Once you return your completed acceptance form we’ll post your physical Award certificate to you within 4 weeks.

Congratulations again on achieving an award of Full Accreditation. You’ll find advice on promoting your award in our guidance library, along with our Post Award Information sheet which has key information for accredited museums: Information for Accredited Museums – Accreditation guidance library | Arts Council England
