Middy new Communications Manager for the Middy
A new Working Group has been established at The Mid-Suffolk Light Railway. This initiative is the first contribution of Peter Singlehurst following his appointment as a working volunteer member, as the railway’s new Communication Manager by the board.
Peter who has recently retired from the RAF where he was for the last nine years one of the RAF’s principle press officers had offered his services and the Board has accepted the offer.
Initially the role of the new Working Group is to bring together the excellent work already been done by various members and seek to develop this further.
In addition to Peter who will Chair the meetings, the initial members are, John Reeve the editor of Making Tracks and who has also being dealing with all external publicity, print buying and web site matters as well as marketing and chairing the well established Events Committee.
Also joining is John Durrant who will maintain his role with the social Media Channels and act as the conduit to the full Board. Developing his role in the area of Social Media is James Bevan.
The new Working Group is however not intended to be exclusive to the initial members, but is open to all working members who wish to be involved in the communications work of the Middy, as such please contact Peter if interested in joining the WG.
Both Peter and John Reeve will continue to seek stories that promote the Middy, however any member is encouraged to submit articles to John Reeve as previously. Likewise the Middy is fortunate to have a number of keen photographers and imagery is also encouraged to be submitted for use by the Middy to promote the activities of the railway.
