New Year’s Day Steam & Light Festival 1st January 2025

We are pleased to announce that the Historical Lighting Society will again be staging their fascinating display of oil lamps dating from mid-Victorian times.

Oil lamps from lowly work places to the grand houses of the age will be on display and working around the Middy – a perfect setting for their collections.

The first open day at the Middy is new year’s day and we will be open from 10.30, so that visitors can be ready for the first train of the day 11.00 and , as usual you can ride the trains as often as you like.

All the usual Middy attractions will be available, so in addition to your first steam train ride of the year, a good way of getting rid of the New Year’s Eve cobwebs is a visit to the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway.
